French Oak Box Beams

The presence of substantial French Oak, without the weight of a solid beam.

Vernay French Oak Box Beams are precision-made three-sided U-shaped sections designed to create the appearance of a substantial solid oak beam.

Made from genuine French Oak and available in 4 metre lengths, they can be installed over structural timber, steelwork or fixing battens — bringing the scale, grain and character of French Oak to ceilings and architectural interiors.

Because they can be finished alongside Vernay flooring, stairs, joinery and wall & ceiling lining, Box Beams allow the same material and colour language to continue throughout a project.

French Oak Box Beam Applications

Applications

French Oak Box Beam Applications

Vernay French Oak Box Beams bring the scale and character of substantial oak to interior architecture without the weight and installation requirements of a full solid section.

Designed as a three-sided U-shaped profile, they can be installed over existing structural elements or used independently to create architectural ceiling features.

Box Beam or Solid Beam?
Both create the architectural presence and natural character of genuine French Oak, but each serves a different purpose.
Solid French Oak Beams provide the mass, natural checking and character of a complete section of oak. They are ideal where the substance and authenticity of a solid timber section are fundamental to the design.

French Oak Box Beams create a similar architectural presence using a lighter three-sided construction. They are particularly suited to wrapping existing steel or timber structures, introducing decorative ceiling beams, or projects where the weight and installation requirements of a large solid section are impractical.

Both can be finished to coordinate with Vernay flooring, stairs, joinery and wall & ceiling lining, allowing the same French Oak material language to continue throughout the project.
